An extension to a Grade II* Listed open hall house, originally 15th century, extended and altered in 16th, 17th and 19th centuries. Located in the hamlet of Great Gaddesden.

The Listed building status and Conservation Area setting required use of a sensitive palette of traditional materials – locally sourced brickwork, hand-made clay tile roofs, seasoned oak structural and decorative timberwork and leaded-light timber windows.

A new brickwork chimney of robust proportions provides a home for the Aga flue and echoes the prominent chimneys featuring within the original building.
